These are the views of Patrick Bosteels, together with Neşen Yücel, founders of Stage-Co and CoderDojo Turkiye. Meanwhile we want to share our agenda and activities. Enjoy!
After 2 years we look back to look forward!
It is a luxury to be able to write about lots of new stuff. Thinking back the 2 years ofStage-Co gave us the urge to go for the extra mile. And as we started to think about it, it just happened.
Last year we were in contact with Till and Robbie fromPirate Summit but we couldn’t get them over, this year they will! Pirates on Shore will do a tour with us in Turkiye. We will visit Northern Cyprus, Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir. In eqch city, we will have Meetups with speakers, sharing insights on startup scene and an Open Pitch for startups. The winner per city gets a wild card to Pirate Summit in Cologne, Germany.
Almost around the same days we welcomed Mine Dedekoca in our team, taking care of the organisation and the sponsoring for Stage-Co events. Mine is one of these nice persons who you want to talk to and share ideas. She worked as the startup mobiliser for Elance.com and next to that she is running her own startup Davetpostası.com . Mine is one of the most active persons in the startup scene, speaking fluent English, even some French next to her mother tongue Turkish. Welcome aboard Mine!
I will be taking part as a moderator at Lab4Cities event on the 26th February organised byallryder.
Our ties with Innomate are very close and we will work together on Mentorship with a first meetup next Monday. Even before the latest events in Turkiye we wanted to put women in the center. We will organise a Meetup in Istanbul around women entrepreneurs at Yazane. Check further in this mail for the events to subscribe, save the date or get informed. It is no secret that we look forward seeing you in one of our events. In this email 7 events are mentioned and next week we are back for more of them :-)
Our Mentorship training is coming very close, so do not forget to register before Monday 23th of February, see below!
(Turkish for “may the work be light for you” although we don’t really have this kind of expression which I love to use)
Stage-Co Meetup in IstanbulWomen entrepreneurs tell their stories! On the poster you see Augusta Ada King, born in 1815, known as Ada Lovelace. She was an English mathematician and writer who wrote the first algorithm intended to be carried out by a machine. She often is described as the world’s first computer programmer. During this Meetup we will hear some more interesting stories of women! More recent ones :-)
We start at 18.00h. Presentations are in English.

Stage-Co on Tour with Pirates On Shore
According to Stavros Messinis, Co-Founder of The Cube Athens about Pirate Summit: “I think of the most impactful event on the European startup calendar”. With Stage-Co we share the same thoughts and that is why we organized a Tour together, starting in Cyprus, then Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir. Startups will have a chance to pitch to the Pirate Team and investors. The winner per city earns a wildcard for the Pirate Summit Day 1 pitch competition. We are very excited we could finally get them over and get the AAArr in our region :-)
We start at 18.00h. Presentations and pitches are in English.

The essence of mentoring
“In the startup ecosystem, mentorship is essential. By default a startup is a team of people who do not have all the competences and experience they need to be successful and mentors can add huge value to startups based on their experience. What defines a good mentor is an even more interesting discussion and we will be glad to take on the challenge during our meetup where the why, what, and how of mentorship will be covered.
The Meetup is organised by Innomate, who aspires an ecosystem which facilitates and supports the creative and innovative processes engaged by entrepreneurs. As an initial step it took the form of an online platform in order to exchange ideas about innovation, creativity, entrepreneurship and coworking.”
March 11th, starts at 19.00h
